Live blog: Lions come up short on fourth and one

The Lions worked the ball into Seattle territory via two first down passes from Matthew Stafford. Faced with a fourth and one as the first quarter came to an end, the Lions tried some trickery on the first play of the second quarter. Stafford rolled to his right and threw back to Matthew Mulligan, but the Seahawks swallowed up the seldom-used tight end and stopped him short of the line to gain.

The Seahawks will take over at their own 40. The game is scoreless with 14:52 to play in the second quarter.

Lions defense holding its own

The Lions defense gave up two first downs to the Seahawks, but as the offense approached midfield, Haloti Ngata and Ziggy Ansah got to Russell Wilson and dropped the quarterback for consecutive sacks to force another Seahawks punt.
