Lions clinch playoff spot after Giants win in Washington

The Detroit Lions are headed back to the playoffs, and it didn’t take a win over the Green Bay Packers to get there.

The Lions qualified for the postseason for the second time in three years before tonight’s NFC North showdown with the Packers by virtue of the New York Giants’ 19-10 win over Washington.

Depending on what happens against the Packers tonight, the Lions will either win the division, be the four seed and host a playoff game next week at Ford Field, or be the six seed and visit the Seattle Seahawks in the wildcard round.
