In loaded DL draft, here's why Charleston's John Cominsky stands out

MOBILE, Ala. — He thought he’d play quarterback, wide receiver or safety, maybe even linebacker, at least that’s what they told him when they offered him his only scholarship, a partial ride.

But when 215-pound John Cominsky showed up for the first day of summer camp, the coaches at Division II Charleston gave him a binder that read: John Cominsky, Barberton, D-end.

Cominsky’s first reaction, understandably, was, “I’ve got some work to do.
