Detroit Lions linebacker Devon Kennard formally introduced himself Tuesday to the reporters who will be covering him this year.
For the record, his first name is pronounced deh-VON. He also goes by D.K.
But maybe more than any other introduction, here’s something that says a lot about Kennard: In March, he signed a $17.25-million, three-year deal with the Lions, and he still drives a 2005 Kia Sorento when he’s back home in Arizona.
The Kelly Blue Book value tops out at $7,339 for the mid-size sports-utility vehicle he’s been driving since he was 16.
