2015 Position Breakdown: Special teams

The good: The Lions finally found some consistency in their kicking game last season when they signed Matt Prater before Week 6.

Prater was re-signed to a three-year, $9 million contract before this past season. He rewarded the Lions for believing in him by making 22 of his 24 field goal attempts this season.

He also set a franchise record by making a 59-yarder right before the first half ended Week 17 in Chicago. He finished the season with 102 points and surpassed the 100-plus-point mark for the fifth time in his career.
