After the Detroit Lions wrapped up their mandatory minicamp in June, the non-rookies on the team parted ways for their final break before training camp begins later this summer. The rookies had to stick around for an extra week in order to attend the NFL Rookie Symposium, but now the entire team is on a vacation of sorts until the beginning of August.
The "of sorts" part of that last sentence is important, because NFL players are never truly off the clock.
