Offseason workouts important to Matthew Stafford

The relationship between quarterback and receiver is one built on trust.

The quarterback has to believe that the receiver will run the right route and be where he’s supposed to be on time. On the flip side, a receiver has to trust that the quarterback will deliver him the football on time in order for him to make the play and in such a way that it won’t get him decapitated by an incoming safety or linebacker.

That rapport between quarterback and receiver is built over countless hours of repetition, something Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford plans to continue during the time off before training camp.
