Halftime Quick Hitters: Lions Lead Bills 14-3 After Two

The Lions have raced out to a big lead over the Bills, largely thanks to a solid performance from Detroit's offense and an interception return for a touchdown.

The football on display was overshadowed by a scary injury to Bills CB Ron Brooks, who was carted off after landing on his head. Brooks lay prone on the ground for some time, but gave a thumbs up to the crowd while being brought off - an extremely encouraging sign whenever head and neck injuries are involved.

Biggest Play: Without a doubt, the the interception return. Rashean Mathis made an excellent read on the play, jumping in to pick off Kyle Orton and bring it home for a 41-yard TD. The play put Detroit up 14-0, giving the Lions all the momentum.

Biggest Surprise: No one thought Kyle Orton would come in and play like Peyton Manning, but Orton has looked no better than E.J. Manuel, who he replaced this week after Manuel's unconvincing start to the season. If Orton can't turn things around in a hurry, this one could get ugly for the Bills.

Lions Key Player: Rashean Mathis hasn't lit up the box score, but his contribution has been massive. The Lions CB picked off Kyle Orton and brought the ball back for a touchdown, but his main contribution has been locking down on Buffalo's underrated receiving corps.

Bills Key Player: CJ Spiller might be the bigger name, but Fred Jackson has played like the Bills' best running back so far today. Just 20 yards on 4 carries isn't much to brag about, but Jackson also has 48 receiving yards on five receptions,

Who Has The Edge? Detroit, and it isn't really close. Buffalo's defensive performance has been solid, but they aren't going to win this game unless they find a quarterback who can move the ball and put points on the board.
