The No. 16 Blue Demons (6-2) beat the Prairie View A&M (4-5) 64-62 in their annual field trip day game. The team was lifted by the strong play of senior forward Jacqui Grant and junior guard Ashton Millender.
DePaul wanted to get an early start against the Panthers and Millender made that happen by scoring the first five points of the game for DePaul. She and Grant both finished the day with 15 points apiece.
“It was really important that our players were ready to play today and come out with a high level of energy,” coach Doug Bruno said.
