After two massive wins, over the Cavaliers and Pacers, the Nuggets had some serious momentum building in Denver, but they got a cold and harsh wake-up call.
This season has shown a bit of a trend in unsustainable momentum for Denver, as success seems to create overconfidence, which has generally ended with the sort of frustrating and low-energy blowout losses that came at the hands of the Pelicans on Sunday night.
Fortunately, Denver has a knack for bouncing back after duds like these, and should go into their now absolute must-win against Portland, who has been lurking in the wake of Denver’s 8th place position for quite some time now, hyper-charged and ready to fight.
