Nikola Jokic can try to deflect the MVP conversation all he wants, but all bets are off once Charles Barkley gets involved.
“The Joker should be the frontrunner for MVP,” Barkley said Thursday, immediately prompting opposition from Reggie Miller and Kenny Smith. Barkley’s comments on TNT’s tip-off show made their way to the Pepsi Center for Nuggets practice on Friday afternoon.
“Thank you,” Jokic said. “I heard that Charles Barkley is telling all kind of good stuff about me. I really appreciate that. He’s such a big legend. I don’t know why Shaq doesn’t love me. … My bad, I’m joking, I love you Shaq.
