Denver Nuggets falter late in loss to Washington Wizards

If the Nuggets had a mirror-image team in the Eastern Conference, Washington is it. Both teams score enough points to win regularly (Nuggets: 106.5, Wizards: 104.3). Neither plays defense consistently enough to win regularly.

Both, coming into Thursday night’s game at the Verizon Center, had identical negative points per game differentials (-2.8). Both coaches talk almost daily about needing energy and defense and consistency and taking flashes of good and turning them into every night occurrences.

In the end, Wizards East beat Wizards West. Or was it Nuggets East beat Nuggets West?

Washington walked out with a 92-85 victory in a game that went the way you though it might between the two.
