Demspey: Injuries aren't hurting drama of the NBA playoffs

Credit probably should be given right off the top.

The NBA playoffs have been good. Really good.

I just don't know how, when injuries have threatened to derail them almost every step of the way.

A severely weakened DeMarre Carroll (knee) and now beat-up Kyle Korver (ankle) have put the Hawks' season on life support.

Losers in the first two games of the Eastern Conference finals at home to the Cavaliers, the Hawks are not going to survive.

And that's too bad.

Atlanta had the second-best record in the NBA this season and deserved an honest shot at beating LeBron James and the Cavaliers.
