Wednesday, the Denver Broncos celebrate the 57th birthday of John Elway, one of the greats in franchise history.
The team’s executive vice president, Elway first came to 5,280 feet in 1983.
The no. 1 overall draft pick in this storied quarterback draft was selected by Baltimore, refusing to play there. Thus, he was traded to the Broncos and the rest, as they say, is history.
Elway proceeded to have a Hall of Fame career, winning two Super Bowls in the process.
From 1983-1998, Elway tossed for 51,475 yards and 300 touchdowns and 226 interceptions.
Elway was also known for his legendary 4th Quarter comebacks.
