Simon Fletcher gave his mother a pep talk Sunday. He had to make the rules of the game clear before they headed to Sports Authority Field at Mile High that evening for the unveiling of his bronze pillar in the Broncos’ Ring of Fame plaza.
“I said: ‘There will be no crying, because if you do, I will join suit. And that’s just not football. There’s no crying in this game,’ ” Fletcher recalled telling his mother. “From the time I sat on that stage, my eyes were focused on my mother and some of the things they said about me, she may have heard before.
