Broncos’ Gary Kubiak opens up about his new starting quarterback

The narrative of the offseason has been about quarterbacks for the Denver Broncos. Of the three on the roster last season, one retired, one left town, and the last one beat out a veteran and high draft pick to win the job.

“He’s earned the right to be our guy,” Head Coach Gary Kubiak said to a packed media room at UCHealth Training Center. Trevor Siemian, a seventh-round pick and who just a year ago was the third quarterback on the roster, will lead the team into the 2016 season.

Siemian beat out veteran quarterback Mark Sanchez and rookie first-round pick Paxton Lynch for the starting job and did so in the last two weeks.
