Monday Night Football saw far too many flags and too many questionable plays, to even attempt to break them all down. This week we are focusing on some general observations about the officiating.
Inconsistent Philosophy
One of the hard things about this game was that the officials did not seem to have a consistent philosophy on how they would rule. They aggressively ruled that forward progress had stopped on some plays, but at other times allowed plays to continue way past normal for forward progress. They had several defensive pass interference calls that most crews would have called defensive holding, but let that same conduct slide on other plays.
