Broncos Rumors: Denver Offers Brock Osweiler Three-Year Deal Worth At Least $45 Million

UPDATE:

Brock Osweiler is heading to Houston on a four-year deal worth $72 million

Original Story Below:

The Denver Broncos have a major question mark at quarterback, with Peyton Manning highly unlikely to return and Brock Osweiler an impending free agent. The Broncos are trying to bring back Osweiler, and the team has offered him a three-year deal worth at least $45 million.

Mike Kils of 9News in Denver reports the deal is worth $45 million and includes incentives. Kils does not say how much guaranteed money is in the deal. The 9News report comes a day after the Denver Post reported the Broncos offered a deal worth at least $12 million per year.

Osweiler started seven games last season for the Broncos and showed enough promise that he'll be a starting QB somewhere next year. If it's not the Broncos, then a team like the Cleveland Browns or Houston Texans could sign him.

The Broncos need Manning to make a decision before March 9th, as if he doesn't elect to retire the team will be forced to cut him in order to save $19 million in cap space. Much of that money appears destined to be used to re-sign Osweiler.

The only other QB on the Broncos roster at the moment is Trevor Siemian. He was a seventh round pick out of Northwestern last season is a far from ready to be a starting QB.
