The Washington Spirit drafted Lindsay Agnew this afternoon in the 2017 NWSL Draft. After having to wait for the 19th pick to come around, the Spirit selected Agnew, a forward from Ohio State. Agnew will add depth up top, particularly while Cali Farquharson continues to recover from the ACL tear she suffered in September.
Agnew improved dramatically in her senior season, scoring more goals in her final year than the previous three combined. For her career, she scored 18 goals for the Buckeyes. She also tallied eight assists as a senior. Mainly used as a flank player, Agnew can also play on the backline if needed.
