Turning back the clock is a dangerous enterprise, unless it involves one hour in the fall. Sometimes you miss your target. Sometimes the past is just the past.
But I don't blame the Dallas Stars for trying, and that's where this franchise is headed. Ken Hitchcock will be announced as the team's head coach Thursday morning, two NHL sources confirmed, as the club looks to relive the '90s and return to Stanley Cup contention.
Hitchcock will be the Stars' seventh head coach since the franchise moved here from Minnesota in 1993. He was also the second. And he is the only one ever to take the Stars to the Stanley Cup Finals.
