Dave Strader is fighting for his life, and he hopes a return to Stars' broadcast booth can be the best medicine

Dave Strader is in a fight for his life, a life in which hockey has played an almost daily role.

So as the Stars play-by-play man battles against bile duct cancer, he is hoping a return to the broadcast booth might be the best medicine. Strader, who has missed all of this season because of treatments for cholangiocarcinoma, will call the next five home games, starting Saturday against Tampa Bay.

"It's something I've been working toward this whole season and my doctors said this fits in the schedule, so here we go," Strader said. "We have tried several different treatments, and the doctors said this could help as much as anything else I could do.
