The Dallas Stars’ track record with now 22 year old Valeri Nichushkin has been an interesting one to say the least. Drafted 10th overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Nichushkin was a promising young forward with a lot of potential.
Fast forward four years and his tenure with the Stars has been anything but promising. Nichushkin departed the team following the 2015-16 season when he signed with CSKA Moscow of the KHL, but Dallas’ recent coaching change could prompt talks of a return to the Lone Star State.
Reasons Why He Left
Nichushkin was merely 21 years old upon deciding to leave the NHL to return to his native Russia for what he deemed to be a better opportunity for hockey.
