On July 1st, 2016, the Dallas Stars found themselves in quite a bind. On the opening day of free agency, Dallas decided to cut ties with three of their starting defensemen and two of their starting forwards, all who had just become unrestricted free agents.
To put things lightly, Stars fans everywhere were a little worried. With expansion and another significant free agent class up for renewal next offseason, the time to win it all needs to be in the 2016-17 season.
The Stars already have an explosive and near unstoppable offense that helped them score more goals than any team in the league last season.
