Stars GM Jim Nill said today and Jamie Benn and Ales Hemsky, who are each expected to have hip surgery this summer, are scheduled to visit the doctor in New York on April 27 for an examination.
Nill said the doctor is the same one who performed hip surgery on John Klingberg last summer and Val Nichushkin in November. He said the two forwards could have surgery soon after their exams.
“They need to see what’s needed and what’s involved, and they’ll probably have surgery a day or two after,” Nill said.
Asked if the hip surgeries are similar, Nill said no.
