Mavs hope to make playoff push coming out of All-Star break

DALLAS — Despite entering the All-Star break feeling the sting of back-to-back losses, the Dallas Mavericks certainly aren’t conceding their playoff chances.

Tasting the bitterness of a 111-98 home loss to Boston on Feb. 13, the Mavericks (22-34) then suffered a 98-91 loss at Detroit two nights later to enter the All-Star break on a sour note. The Mavs now sit three games behind Denver in the race for the Western Conference’s eighth and final playoff seed. And with just 26 games left on the regular-season schedule, the Mavericks know they will have to go on a victorious run in order to make up ground in the standings.
