Mavs encouraged by grit shown during up-and-down, injury-riddled season

DALLAS — It was an up-and-down 2014-15 season for the Dallas Mavericks, filled with plenty of highs and lows, but the team show plenty of grit in the end before falling in five games in the first round of the playoffs at the hands of the Houston Rockets.

Playing the final four games of the first-round series without prized offseason signee Chandler Parsons (right knee) and mid-season acquisition Rajon Rondo (back), the Mavericks avoided a sweep but couldn’t get past MVP candidate James Harden and the Rockets a second time while falling to a 103-94 loss Tuesday night.
