Irving named Western Conference Player of the Week

On the coattails of his explosive 48-point output during Sunday’s 147-136 overtime victory over the Houston Rockets, the NBA

named Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving as the Western Conference Player of the Week for his performance last week.

In four games last week, Irving averaged 31.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals. He capped off his terrific week with his outlandish showing against Houston, which includes Irving scoring 19 points in the fourth quarter of a game the Mavs trailed by 22 points.
