Dallas Mavericks Free Agency: Goran Dragic Trade Fallout, Kristaps Porzingis’ New Contract

Goran Dragic was seemingly headed to the Mavs in a 3-way trade involving the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers, but it all fell apart on Sunday with word coming out that the Mavs instead were trying to acquire Kelly Olynyk and Derrick Jones Jr. instead of Dragic. The 3-way trade that didn’t happen sought to ship Jimmy Butler to the Heat, Josh Richardson to the 76ers, and Olynyk and Derrick Jones Jr. to Dallas. Hosts Tom Downey and Harrison Graham discuss the possibility of a deal still happening that lands Dragic on the Mavs in a new 3-way trade.

Kristaps Porzingis signed a long-term deal with the Mavs on Sunday so there is still plenty of optimism for the future of the team with the Uniciorn pairing with Luka Doncic long-term. Mavs fans are hoping to for more  positivity from 2019 NBA free agency by landing Danny Green, the vetreran 3 and D player from NBA Champion Toronto Raptors. If Kawhi Leonard signs with the Lakers, are the Mavs the favorites to land his former Raptors teammate? If no Kawhi to LA, perhaps the Lakers become big competition for landing the services of Green.

Patrick Beverley and Kemba Walker are 2 PG that Mavs fans thought could end up signing with Mark Cuban’s Dallas Mavericks for the 2019-20 season... but both ended up elsewhere. Beverley re-signed with the Clippers and Walker signed a deal to leave the Hornets and join the Boston Celtics.
