Chandler Parsons may need microfracture surgery on right knee

The bad may have gotten worse in regards to Chandler Parsons’ right knee. Persistent knee issues kept him out of the final six games of the regular season and all but one of the Mavericks’ four playoff games thus far, and now the word is that the 26-year old small forward may require microfracture surgery.

That’s not good news. Parsons got three medical opinions, the Mavericks’ team physician T.O. Souryal, Chicago Bulls’ team physician Brian Cole, and the Houston Rockets’ team physician Walter Lowe. Now, it’s still possible that the cartilage damage can be repaired with arthroscopic surgery, but if microfracture is indeed the route taken, Parsons will miss the start of next season.
