This would be the Cowboys' worst-case scenario with Dak Prescott (Hint: QB purgatory)

Dane Brugler, senior NFL draft analyst for NFLDraftScout.com, answered your questions about the NFL Draft and the Cowboys during a live chat recently. Here are some highlights:

If Dak Prescott doesn't make progress this season, should the Cowboys start looking in a different direction for a starting QB?

Brugler: It won't be quite that simplistic, but yes. Ideally, the Cowboys will be talking contract extensive next offseason with Dak or heavily scouting the 2019 crop of quarterback prospects. With two seasons of starting experience under his belt, Dak needs to improve in several key areas like timing, accuracy and anticipation, making decisions in his drops based on pre-snap reads and coverage looks.
