Seattle threw a wrench in the Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott philosophy, and it could be problematic going forward

FRISCO -- No matter how dysfunctional this offense appears, no matter how few points it scrapes together, the Cowboys cling to the belief their ability to run the ball with Ezekiel Elliott will eventually allow this stumbling group to regain its equilibrium.

The idea is simple. Defensive coordinators must account for Elliott's presence. Doing so should create enough cracks in the pass defense for the Cowboys receivers to slip through and make plays.

The focus on stopping Elliott will allow members of the Cowboys supporting cast to come into focus.

Seattle threw a wrench into this premise, one that should prove problematic for the Cowboys moving forward.
