Ezekiel Elliott hoping to be bigger part of Cowboys passing game; where he must improve as a runner

FRISCO -- Ezekiel Elliott describes the current phase of the team's offseason workout program as "laying the foundation" by "getting back into football shape."

Coming off a rookie season that included an NFL rushing title (1,631 yards in 15 games), first-team All-Pro honors and a Pro Bowl appearance, Elliott is looking to improve in at least one area of his game.

"Just becoming a more dominant second-level runner," Elliott said Monday from the team's annual home run derby. "I think there were a couple times last year where I could've been [better] on certain runs when I got to the second level.
