Darren McFadden, Alfred Morris and Rod Smith are all fighting for their NFL lives to be the new starter for the Dallas Cowboys, for six weeks anyway. As training camp battles go, it’s a doozy.

Of the three, McFadden’s position is the most secure. This coaching staff knows him, he’s the most complete player of the backs (not named Elliott) and he has a 1000 yard season as a Dallas Cowboy. Last year, in spot duty, he didn’t put up great numbers but he did help the team with his versatility and professionalism.
