Cowboys see DT Tyrone Crawford growing into job

IRVING, Texas -- In the Dallas Cowboys' defense, the under tackle is the play-making position.

In 2013, Jason Hatcher recorded 11 sacks from that spot, made the Pro Bowl, and cashed in with a lucrative free-agent deal from the Washington Redskins.

Even before Hatcher departed he said Tyrone Crawford would be the next Pro Bowl player on the Cowboys’ defensive line. It took time for the Cowboys to move Crawford to that under tackle spot last year, but they quickly liked what they saw and Crawford signed a five-year, $45 million extension the day before the 2015 season started.
