Instant Reaction: Cardinals Beat Romo-Less Cowboys 28-17, Take Control Of The NFC

The Cowboys struggled on offense without QB Tony Romo, and Arizona QB Carson Palmer rallied after an early pick-six and led the Cardinals to an important win.

Turning Point:

Palmer put the game out of reach for Dallas with a 9-play, 65-yard touchdown drive mid-way through the fourth quarter. When Andre Ellington scored on a one-yard pass from Palmer, it put the Cards up 11, effectively putting the game out of reach.

Cowboys MVP:

It wasn't a banner day for anyone in a Cowboys uniform, but we'll give some props to undrafted rookie CB Tyler Patmon. Patmon was the man responsible for the Cowboys' early 7-0 lead, and his interception return for a touchdown gave the Cowboys all the momentum early. It wasn't Patmon's fault that they couldn't capitalize.

Cardinals MVP:

While this started out as a rough day for Carson Palmer, the veteran QB rallied impressively to earn player of the game honors for Arizona. Palmer completed 22/34 passes for 249 yards and 3 TDs.

What's Next?

The NFC-leading Cardinals return home for a matchup with divisional rival St. Louis, while the Cowboys, no longer in control of their division, will hit the road for a game against Blake Bortles and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
