Dallas Cowboys Fantasy Advice: Week Four

For the past three weeks, I have posted my predictions for fantasy production that certain Dallas Cowboys players would have. I like to think the majority of them have been accurate. I’ll give it another shot this week. Here is what to expect from a few Cowboys as Dallas takes on the San Diego Chargers.

Tony Romo, QB

With Aaron Rodgers and Cam Newton on byes this week, Romo is easily worth a start this week. The Chargers have given up the most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. And they’ve done it against the likes of Matt Schaub, Mike Vick and Jake Locker. Romo should have a great week against the Chargers, so feel confident playing him.

DeMarco Murray, RB

After a monster week against the St. Louis Rams, Murray is sixth among all fantasy running backs in standard ESPN fantasy leagues. It’s unlikely he’ll have another game of that caliber, but he’s still worth a start when healthy. He’s a low-end RB1 or a high end RB2 this week.

Dez Bryant, WR

I’ve mentioned this in previous weeks, but Bryant is a must-start. He’s too talented and has too much potential to justify sitting him on the bench. He’s a WR1 this week.

Miles Austin, WR

Austin missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, so don’t start him in any situation. I don’t think he plays this week, and even if he does, he won’t put up enough points to justify it. Austin has struggled with hamstring injuries in the past and another one isn’t a good sign for his fantasy future.

Terrance Williams/Dwayne Harris/Cole Beasley, WRs

These guys are grouped together because they’re the ones that will likely see more playing time if Austin is out. But don’t get cute and play one of them. It’s not worth it and there are other wide receivers more likely to have better production this week.

Jason Witten, TE

Witten is seventh among all tight ends in standard ESPN fantasy leagues. He’s a TE1 every week, and that shouldn’t change barring injury.

Dallas Defense

I’ve officially bought into the Dallas defense as a reliable fantasy starter. However, they’re a low-end defense this week. They’re still worth a start if you have them, but there might be a better play in the free agency pool, like the Indianapolis Colts. They’re owned in just 27 percent of ESPN leagues and play the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Dan Bailey, K

Bailey is averaging 11 points per game so far this season. That’s second among all kickers in standard ESPN leagues. Dallas scores, but struggles at times in the red zone. That’s ideal for a fantasy kicker. Start Bailey with confidence this week.
