Running back Adrian Peterson's future with the Minnesota Vikings remains entirely up in the air, with no guarantees that the 29-year-old former NFL MVP will ever don a Vikings jersey again.
Peterson, who pleaded no contest on Nov. 4 to misdemeanor reckless injury after using a switch to discipline his four-year-old son in May, is still expected to garner major interest via trade and/or free agency if made available. With that being said, here's 4 teams that we feel Adrian Peterson could suit up for in 2015.
Washington Redskins 
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora recently indicated that the Redskins are a "dark-horse potential suitor" for Peterson should he be made available on the trade market. While Alfred Morris remains the #1 going forward in D.C. according to all reports, pairing Peterson with Morris could make for the most effective and purely talented halfback duos in all of the league. The question remains though...what would Daniel Snyder have to give up to make this work for both sides?
Dallas Cowboys
2014 NFL rushing champion DeMarco Murray has left the Cowboys for the rival Philadelphia Eagles, leaving a gaping hole at #1 tailback in the Big D. While there's reports going around that Dallas may look to the 2015 NFL Draft for his replacement, there's no denying the litany of rumors that have linked AP to his home-state team for the past several months. However, reports have surfaced that Peterson won't give the Cowboys a home-state discount on the open market -- something that could throw a monkey wrench into things given the Cowboys' ill-fated negotations with Murray.
Tampa Bay Bucs 
Here's an intriguing fit that may make more sense than it appears on first glance. According to BucsBlitz.com, "the Bucs have had internal discussions of trading for Peterson." The article adds that the discussion have taken on an "aggressive" tact, as Tampa Bay looks to accelerate its rebuilding process with a home-run swing. Tampa is on the list of teams that Peterson says he'll restructure his contract for, and they have plenty of assets (even if they shield the #1 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft with their live) to make this happen.
Minnesota Vikings
Despite all the rumblings coming out of the Twin Cities, both positive and negative, the fact remains that Peterson hasn't asked for a trade yet, nor have the Vikings completely tipped their hand one way or the other. The players want him back. The fans, or at the least the vocal majority of the fan base, want him back. Don't be surprised if all of the highly-publicized "meetings" with Vikings brass end up in some sort of compromise that sees AP remain in Minnesota for 2015 at least.
