OMAHA, Neb. -- Ricky Lopez-Espin scored a pair of goals as the Creighton men's soccer team opened its exhibition schedule with a 2-1 win over SIU Edwardsville on Friday night at Morrison Stadium.
The Cougars scored the match's first goal during the 69th minute, but the Bluejays responded with a goal of their own less than three minutes later.
After a header that towards the left post was saved by the SIUE goalkeeper, Lopez-Espin recovered the rebound and sent the ball into the back of the net to tie the match at 1-1 during the 72nd minute.
