When Crew SC announced in a statement Wednesday that five players had their options picked up for next season, one name was conspicuously absent.
Goalkeeper Steve Clark started 100 consecutive games for the Crew before the last two games this season, after the team had been eliminated from playoff contention. Coach and sporting director Gregg Berhalter brought him to the team before the 2014 season, but after three years and 22 shutouts, the sides can't agree on a salary and Clark seems to want to explore his options.
