Game #16 Recap: Crosby gets a hat trick, Blue Jackets lose sixth straight

The Blue Jackets have played a lot better this season, but in terms of record, there isn’t much improvement, and they’ve lost their last five games. Can they get a lead, and then hold it, versus the rival Pittsburgh Penguins to break the streak? (Spoiler: no!)

First Period

The Penguins pushed hard to start the period, and were rewarded early. Sid the now-36-year-old Kid gave Pittsburgh the lead just four minutes in, on a tight-angle shot that I’m still trying to figure out how it got past Elvis.

PENGUINS GOAL – Sidney Crosby from Marcus Pettersson and Kris Letang – 4:10 First Period

Pittsburgh kept pushing, getting a two-minute shift in the Jackets end shortly after their goal.
