Saunders: Todd Helton expects pal Peyton Manning to have a great game

SAN FRANCISCO — It's the day before Super Bowl 50, and Todd Helton has just finished playing golf.

The former Rockies first baseman loves golf, and he has played a lot since retiring from baseball after the 2013 season. But on Saturday, his mind was on football, not tracking a Titleist.

Helton has a lot at stake Sunday in Super Bowl 50. Quarterback Peyton Manning, Helton's friend since 1994, could be starting the final game of his brilliant career.

"Heck yeah, I'm nervous. I'm nervous right now," said Helton, who plans to be at Levi's Stadium to watch the game.
