The Colorado Rockies on Friday placed Gerardo Parra on the 15-day disabled list and recalled Brandon Barnes from Triple-A Albuquerque to fill the void in advance of the team's road series against the Miami Marlins, according to a club release.
Parra was hurt in a collision with shortstop Trevor Story in the Rockies' 13-10 victory over the New York Yankees on Tuesday. Story was running out toward the left field line on a pop fly while Parra was moving in on the ball, which he eventually caught.
