Thomas Harding is reporting that Chi Chi González had signed a minor league deal with the Rockies. The agreement includes an invitation to Spring Training.
Along with David Dahl and Tony Wolters, the Rockies non-tendered González last week. In 2020, he earned a 6.86 ERA. Over 19 2⁄3 innings, he allowed 10 walks and threw 16 strikeouts, for a 0.1 rWAR. 2020 was not his best year, and things came to a head during a disastrous September 8 start against the Padres.
He opened by walking Trent Grisham, Fernando Tatis Jr.
