Rockies’ one-run losses are a troubling trend

BALTIMORE — The numbers tell the story.

After losing Monday night’s game 3-2 in the 10th inning to Baltimore, the Rockies fell to 7-13 in one-run games. In games decided in the last at-bat, they are 6-10. They have just one walk-off win this season, while their opponents have six.

Those are the statistics of a team still learning how to win.

“You have a lot of close games in this league, so you have to win those close games,” manager Walt Weiss said. “So yes, I think that would be a nice step for us, to perform better in those one-run games.
