Rockies embrace CLEAR / Fast Access at Coors Field

Colorado Rockies fans can soon bypass long security lines and, maybe someday, have a hot dog and a beer waiting for them when they get to their seat — all with a scan of a fingerprint.

Fast Access — a program powered by the biometric identity program Clear, which is used to expedite airport security lines around the nation — makes its debut at Coors Field for the Rockies' Aug. 3 game against the Seattle Mariners.

Biometrics at the ballpark? Indeed. It's all part of creatively addressing new Major League Baseball regulations requiring metal detectors at stadiums that were put into effect this season.
