Rockies bats bail out Bettis in much-needed win

ARLINGTON -- Rockies right-hander Chad Bettis found himself in an early hole against the Rangers on Friday at Globe Life Park, but his offense quickly picked him up.

After Texas took a five-run lead in the first, the Rockies answered back with six runs in the second on their way to a 9-5 win.

Colorado received a solo home run from Ian Desmond in the inning, one of two in the game for Desmond.

Later in the frame, with two outs and Colorado trailing, 5-3, Nolan Arenado drilled a liner down the left-field line to score DJ LeMahieu and Charlie Blackmon.
