Red hot Rockies take another one, beat Mets 6-1

Fresh off of their best stretch of the season against some spectacular starting pitching as of late, the Colorado Rockies continued to play competitive baseball, and ground out another impressive victory against the young and talented lefty, Steven Matz beating the New York Mets 6-1.

The Rockies bats got things started early on against Matz in the first inning. Charlie Blackmon led off the ballgame with a bloop single to left the field, and DJ Lemahieu followed Blackmon with a fielder’s choice ground ball. However, Lemahieu proceeded to steal second base, his ninth of the season, and then advanced to third base on a Nolan Arenado ground out.
