Playing down to the competition is not a good look for the Rockies

The Colorado Rockies were a team vying for a Wild Card spot as early as Aug. 3, boasting a record of 54-53 while finding themselves three games back of the St. Louis Cardinals for the second Wild Card, which is the closest they’ve come to the feat. Fast forward three weeks and the Rockies find themselves 7.5 games back with just 35 games left in the season. So, what gives?

So, what gives?

Well as you could tell after Wednesday afternoon’s loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, the Rockies struggle mightily for some reason against weaker competition. The Brewers completed the three-game sweep of Colorado, exposing the bullpen that has been hit around of late.
