Pittsburgh Pirates 6, Colorado Rockies 3: Rockies unable to overcome Jordan Lyles' disastrous start

After losing a 1-0 lead to a rainout yesterday, the Colorado Rockies dropped today's makeup game, 6-3, to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Jordan Lyles started today's makeup game and his rough 2016 season continued as he allowed six runs, four earned, in just 2 1/3 innings of work, walking three and striking out three.

The Rockies actually had a chance to get on the board first after Charlie Blackmon led off the game with a double against Pirates starter Ryan Vogelsong, but Sean Rodriguez kept Carlos Gonzalez's two-out single in the infield, preventing Blackmon from scoring.

It was Pittsburgh that struck first in the bottom of the second when Starling Marte scored on Josh Harrison's infield single and Lyles hit Vogelsong in the head with an 0-2 pitch with the bases loaded, knocking Vogelsong out of the game and giving his team a 2-0 lead.
