Newest Rockies prospects make big impact in Grand Junction

Ryan Rolison, the Rockies first pick (22nd overall) in this year’s Amateur Draft, made his professional debut last night and pitched two solid innings for Grand Junction. He gave up only one hit—albeit a home run—and struck out two batters on 28 pitches (21 for strikes).

After giving up the home run to start the 2nd inning, Ryan showed strong poise for a young pitcher by retiring the next three batters in a row, including two K’s. It was a performance that can get Rockies fans excited to see more from Rolison this year and beyond.
